Project Scope

Creating custom animated gifs for the Development and Alumni Relations team was an initiative that started between the social media coordinator and I. Through collaboration and research, we came up with a few categories and began launching new gif designs in an effort to promote university spirit, events and celebrations on social media and email marketing. By strategically designing relatable animations aimed at increasing university spirit and digital engagement, the VCU Alumni Giphy account has generated over 11.5 million views. 

Turning Gifs Into Gifts

In collaboration with the director of annual giving, we redesigned the Black&Gold&You email marketing campaign that encourages VCU and VCU Health employees to join a payroll deduct donation program. Since the launch of its new messaging, supporting graphics and button design we’ve seen an increase in gifts. It was noted in 2019, there were 12 gift confirmations within the first two hours of the email send.
